A group of South American countries have delayed the implementation of a restriction on the use of triclocarban and triclosan in cosmetics by a year.

In 2017 the Andean Community (Comunidad Andina) trade bloc – Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru – restricted the use of the ingredients to the functions, conditions and concentrations recommended by the EU cosmetic products Regulation and its amendments.
