- The National Institute of Environmental Research announced they plans to promote the partnership with automotive industry in order to successfully settle the ‘Diesel Vehicle Real Driving Emission Gas Control System’ to be implemented in September 2017.
* ‘Diesel Vehicle Real Driving Emission Gas Control System’ refers to a program determining the suitability of vehicle driving by installing the ''''Portable Emission Measurement System (PEMS)'''' on vehicle and measuring the pollutants while driving on real outside roads, unlike the existing way of measuring emission gases at indoor laboratory.
* Diverse driving conditions of speed burst, hill driving, operation of air conditioner, driving under high or low ambient temperature applicable.
* The system is to be implemented in Korea and EU for the first time in the world beginning from September 2017. The Ministry of Environment has amended the Enforcement Rule for ''''Clean Air Conservation Act'''' in last July in order to introduce this system.
