KEPCO, the Korea Electric Power Corporation, has signed an investment MOU with SK Telecom to foster Smart City technology research and local energy micro-grid systems.
At an agreement signing on the 29th, both companies agreed to build a cooperative committee to carry out energy research projects and develop innovative electric vehicle infrastructure.
Following recent efforts by the national government to nuture regional energy industries, the two corporations will invest a total of 500 billion won to complete the projects, which will set the stage for electric vehicle production.
Moreover, the energy-related corporations will work together to develop new business models and expand overseas markets using up-to-date ICT.
